‘사랑하라’는 우리의 신앙이 어떠한 열심과 수고로 드러나더라도, 그 중심에 사랑이 없다면 공허할 뿐임을 고백하는 찬양입니다.

주님을 향한 기도, 인내, 열정과 예배마저도 사랑이 빠지면 교만이나 자기 의로 변질될 수 있음을 노래하며, 성경이 말씀하시는 가장 큰 계명을 다시 붙들게 합니다.

“예수께서 가라사대 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니 이것이 크고 첫째 되는 계명이요 둘째는 그와 같으니 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하셨으니”
(마태복음 22:37-39, 개역한글)

“마음 다하여 하나님을 사랑하라, 뜻을 다하여 네 이웃을 사랑하라.”
이 단순하지만 깊은 고백은, 우리가 붙잡아야 할 신앙의 본질을 다시금 일깨워 줍니다. 사랑이야말로 모든 헌신과 예배의 뿌리이자 열매임을 보여주는 메시지입니다.

또한 사도 바울은 고린도전서 13장에서 “내가 사람의 방언과 천사의 말을 할지라도 사랑이 없으면 소리 나는 구리와 울리는 꽹과리가 되고… 사랑이 없으면 내가 아무 것도 아니라”고 고백합니다. 이는 신앙과 사역의 모든 행위가 사랑 위에 세워질 때만이 온전해짐을 강조합니다.

이 앨범을 통해 우리의 삶이 사랑 없는 행위가 아니라, 사랑으로 충만한 예배와 나눔으로 세워지기를 소망합니다. 교만 대신 겸손으로, 자랑 대신 섬김으로, 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하는 진정한 삶의 결단이 다시 일어나길 기도합니다.

더 나아가, 이 찬양이 오늘을 살아가는 많은 이들에게 도전과 위로가 되어, 주님의 사랑을 온전히 드러내는 귀한 도구가 되기를 바랍니다.

"Love" is a hymn that confesses that our faith, no matter how fervent and toilsome it may be, is empty if love is not at its core.

It sings of how even prayer, patience, passion, and worship toward the Lord can degenerate into arrogance or self-righteousness if love is lacking, and it reminds us to hold fast to the greatest commandment in the Bible.

"Jesus said to him, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.‘ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.‘"

This simple yet profound confession reminds us of the essence of faith we must hold on to. It is a message that shows us that love is the root and fruit of all devotion and worship.

Furthermore, the Apostle Paul confesses in 1 Corinthians 13, "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal... But if I do not have love, I am nothing." This emphasizes that all acts of faith and ministry are complete only when they are founded on love.

Through this album, I hope that our lives will not be built on acts devoid of love, but on worship and sharing filled with love. I pray that we will once again resolve to live a life of humility instead of pride, service instead of boasting, and love for God and our neighbors.

Furthermore, I hope that this praise will be a challenge and comfort to many living today, becoming a precious tool that fully reveals the love of the Lord.
